Gurney's Inn Resort and Spa | Montauk, New York
April 8, 2017
Morgan & Kyle each came into my life many years ago- Kyle went to the same high school as me, and Morgan thru mutual friends in the Cold Spring Harbor area. When I heard they were a couple and were getting married, it immediately made sense and I knew that it was a beautiful match made in heaven. They are both so genuine, sweet, and love a lot of the same things- especially fitness and Montauk!
Gurney's Inn was the perfect venue for them, not only because Kyle proposed to Morgan at the Montauk Lighthouse, but Kyle works as a builder in the Hamptons and together they love going to the beach, going on hikes, and just being with each other! Morgan works at her families' business doing specialty packaging, and printing, so she was able to print and design all of her own printed paper decor items- menus, programs etc..
Another thing that we LOVED about Morgan & Kyle was their thoughtfulness. Usually we are the ones thinking up all of the fun, thoughtful and creative ways to make the day so special and memorable, but in this case, we had a LOT of help. From the moment their guests arrived and immediately received the best welcome bags filled with local goodies to the very end of the wedding weekend where they had a big beautiful Farewell Brunch, there was not one moment that there wasn't some sort of special touch to let them know the couple appreciated having them for the best day of their lives.
Some of our favorite decor pieces were their Montauk Lighthouse Blueprint Table Numbers that we made for them, as well as the Polaroid Photo Booth, the Charging Station, and their "Let Love Grow" escort card display.
Their vendors consisted of some of our absolute faves including Wildflowers Florist (we LOVE Jenny & her team!!!), EIN Photo, NY Tent (reception tent, lighting, draping), Elite Tent and Party Rental (linens & chairs), Harbor Bridal (Wedding Gown), RJ West for Makeup, Hair by Nikki for Hair & Decadia Band.
Taryn & Eric’s wedding was a dream! The gorgeous lush colors popped so beautifully against Brooklyn’s own Wythe Hotel. I knew Taryn since she was a little girl, and she grew up right around the block from my childhood home! Her love for her new Barber extraordinaire hubby Eric, is ALMOST as strong as her love for sweets, and more specifically: DONUTS. We even handmade a rose gold donut wall for them out of a custom closet shelf we found at IKEA, and used pretty little gold push pins to hang up all of the donuts that we purchased from one of BK’s favorite places to buy the circular shaped delights- Dough. Other special touches from that table included cute little custom to-go bags, custom napkins with a little doughnut humor, some of our gold vintage vanity mirrors, and more.
Her amazing florals were created by Scarsella’s Florist, and they were seriously stunning. We made most of their signage using vintage windows and ornate gold mirrors, and draped with some of Scarsella’s greens and flowers, it was pure perfection!

Annabelle wanted a High Tea themed birthday party inspired by her recent family vacation to England. We wanted this to be such a special day for her to enjoy with her best friends, that she would remember forever. It came out so cute thanks to our talented team, and all of the amazing vendors who worked together to create this magical tea party, that made us want to throw our own! :)

Caitlin and Greg's wedding was designed to be a wedding on the beach, that was not a typical "Beach Wedding" with seashells and seaglass everywhere. The Creek Club in Locust Valley, is a members only Country Club that has a beautiful clubhouse that we actually did another wedding at in 2015, as well as a seaside beach house, that is more of a modern building with nice clean lines and a light, bright and airy feel.
As an event planner herself, Caitlin wanted to be a big part of the design decision-making process, and knew exactly what she wanted. We combined our creative vision board based on all the things we knew that the couple loved along with her vision, and loved every minute of producing all of the custom details using her bright punchy color palette! These bold hues of pomegranate, coral, fuchsia, and indigo blue blended perfectly with the beautiful soft palette of the mix-and-match bridesmaids gowns, and classic black tuxedos of Eric and his Groomsmen to create this one-of-a-kind beauty of a wedding.
We teamed up with Essence of the Garden Floral Boutique to create all of the lush florals, with alternating large arrangements, and bud vase clusters on the reception tables. The Ceremony was donned with floral and greenery in every corner, as well as the beautiful pop of color from paper fans to help guests feel cool in the summer heat.
One of our favorite elements of this wedding was the Escort Card Display that we made out of old-fashioned style heating grates that we spray painted Gold, and framed out with wooden fence pieces that we decided to paint white. We hand painted every single card with custom mixed water color paint and flicked specks of 14K Gold on each, to make sure that each one had it's own unique look! To complete the look, we dressed the setup with some of the bright florals including red anemones, ranunculus, garden roses and peonies, and pulled them thru the grate so it looked like they were growing thru everywhere.
Tim and his team at EIN Photography captured the day perfectly for the couple including the UNREAL Sunset that stole the show at one point (only for a few minutes!), and Michael at Palette Films was able to produce an incredible highlight video for them that captured the organic emotion and warmth of the day.
